What’s New in 2014

So I’ve been hinting for a few months about new and better things for Faeye Photography in 2014, and it’s true! I feel like this is a year where the Faeye Photography experience is better than ever! So what’s new? Here are some of the things to look forward to:

1. Pricing
Yes, there is new pricing in 2014. I don’t want to give you sticker shock, but I think the experience I offer is worth it. Remember, you get what you pay for. I spend a lot of time and energy not only creating your images, but researching which products to offer, and creating the end experience. While product pricing will remain low, session fees will now include product credits or packages, or both, so that you don’t forget to do something with the images!

2. More In-Person service
Starting now, any new session inquiries will include an in-person consultation if you live in the Grand Rapids area, and a phone consultation for all sessions outside of that area. You will receive guidance as to wardrobe, location, timing, just about everything. I will make ever effort to make this experience as smooth as possible. After the session, those in the area will also receive an in-person viewing consultation, when you can view the images, and order products at a discount. Those outside of Grand Rapids will get the same discount in their online galleries for a period of 14 days.

3. New online galleries.
Due to some problems I had with the current gallery system, I am migrating the galleries to a new system once again. The order options in the new system will be far better and more specific, and shipping costs will not be automatic, as I will be fulfilling the orders myself. There will be new products and discounts available in the galleries too, for those who want to take advantage of them.

4. Modeling and Marketing Discounts
Do you work somewhere where your coworkers or customers might enjoy the Faeye Photography experience? You can get a discount or credits toward your next purchase if you sign up to be a marketer for me! Marketer responsibilities and packages vary, but can be anything from a full wall display in your place of business, to just passing out marketing postcards/mini flyers or tacking a paper flyer to a bulletin board. Want a free session? Let me know what kind of sessions you’re looking for, and if I need a model for marketing materials, you get your session and some products for free!

5. New Business Hours
I know it seems to many people that being a photographer means you can work whenever you want, and therefore I should be available whenever you are. This isn’t the case. I need work-life balance just like everyone else, and so I am enforcing new business hours for sessions. Special events that are booked such as weddings and parties are excluded, as they cannot be scheduled. Think of it this way, you take the morning off of work to take your child to the doctor, or take an extended lunch hour to pick up a treat for their school holiday party, their photos shouldn’t be any different. My new business hours are Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. I will designate one evening per week available for sessions on a first come, first serve basis, and one weekend day per month.
