Last week I had the honor and privilege of photographing the Greater Michigan MDA’s Muscle Walk here in Grand Rapids. It was hosted at Davenport University again this year, and while I don’t keep track of their turn out, it certainly seemed that there were more people this year!

While I do not have any personal anecdotes to tell about the MDA or neuromuscular diseases like I do with many of the other charities I support, you can take my word for it that this charity is an important one. The MDA is the world’s leading non-profit organization sponsoring research for the cure and treatment of neuromuscular diseases, and is currently supporting more than 250 projects worldwide. They also provide healthcare services and support to families affected by neuromuscular diseases.

Like many non-profit organizations, the MDA has several ways of fundraising to support their efforts, and the Muscle Walks hosted by their individual offices all over the country are but one way, but they are an important way, and I’m glad to have been a part of it.
